Editorial definitions for terms NoShills actually uses. These are not keyword pages.
- FDV
Fully diluted valuation estimates value if the reported maximum or total supply were priced at the current unit price.
- Market capitalization
Reported market cap multiplies circulating supply by a current price. It is not cash on hand.
- Circulating supply
Circulating supply is the amount a provider currently treats as available to the public market.
- Token unlock
A token unlock is a scheduled or observed increase in tokens that can enter circulation.
- TVL
Total value locked is a provider estimate of assets deposited in a protocol.
- Protocol fees
Protocol fees are reported charges generated by mapped protocol activity.
- Protocol revenue
Protocol revenue is a provider estimate of value retained after expenses or incentives, depending on the source definition.
- Token value capture
Value capture asks whether protocol activity has a verified mechanism that benefits the token.
- Honeypot
A honeypot indicator is a provider observation that selling or transferring the token may be restricted.
- Proxy contract
A proxy can point at upgradable logic, so the behavior users see today can change.
- Mint capability
Mint capability means a privileged role can increase supply after issuance.
- Token dilution
Dilution is an increase in circulating or potential supply relative to current holders.
- Liquidity
Liquidity describes how much can be traded without large price impact. Reported volume is not the same thing.
- Volatility
Volatility describes how much a price has moved. It is not a verdict on quality or fraud.
